  • A/c is now blowing only out of the defroster.

1993 5.0 mustang. I checked the vacuum line on the tree. I looked good. I went ahead and black taped it tight just in case. It didn't help. It was working last week and now it's not. I'm getting fire on the switch in the car. The doors are just not opening. These are vacuum ran correct? Any ideas?

Did you check the line on the passenger side where it goes into the small black spliter and goes into the fire wall ?

I believe there is also a small plastic line that runs from the drivers side to the passenger side, then to the firewall. This plastic line broke on my old 90 GT.

Jim I looked at the 3 lines and they all looks ok. It's got me confused. I may just go and buy some new line and replace them. I need to figure out where the one that goes into the passenger fender comes out at.

That one is for the emmisions stuff in that space behind the shock tower . Disconect that one and put a vac plug on the nipple and see if blows the right way . If it doesn't disconnect the one that goes into the firewall , put the air on max and then suck on that line with your hand thru the pass window and see if it changes . If not then the problem is in the lines under the dash , the diaphram or the switch pannel .

Most of the time if it is the control you can hear it his a little when you are in the car .

you have a vacuum leak somewhere, blend door is defaulted.

I don't think it is the control. B/s and s/c were plugged off. I'm going to try and find a diagram. Usually 9 times out of 10 it's that line that runs from the tree to the t. I just don't see anything wrong with it.

I still have yet to figure it out.. Does anyone have a link to how the vaccum lines need to be run. I am on my phone and I hate trying to google on it. Cj do you think, it's that line from the tree? I'm waiting on a guy to get here and pick up some parts, then I will run and get some line. It was working fine last week, then now it's not.

Ok, so this seems very weird. I left out to take some pics in the car, and as of late yesterday, I was still only getting air out of the defroster. I decided while driving to try it. Cut right on and out the vents... What gives? I always remember the fox cars blowing out of the vents even when not running if you had it on vent, or a/c. This is very weird...

the vac motor may be busted. i had to replace one of mine on my 98 sn95. start at the blend door actuator and work your way back until you find where its leaking

That is kind of what I was thinking after yanking the intake, and checking all the lines, and what I could see of the two the disapear at the t on the passenger side. are the 87-93 ones the same hook up? I know the style is different, but maybe jim has one I could try and see if that is what it was.
