    Leaf Spring axle perch repair/replacement

    Note to self: recheck every nut after you drive around the block a couple times!!!!
    After working on my 76 C10 yesterday I THOUGHT I was done.

    As it turned out:
    U-bolts not tightened all the way so the brackets that sit in the perches on the flip kit have have now broke the welds on the factory spring perches due to the axle housing pivoting!!
    Now in addition to replacing the rear shocks, I get to repair those as well.

    Need to get a welder and new spring perches now.

    Any ideas locally where I can get new perches? I'm not sure these are salvageable now? The rear portion has the welds broken on both sides of the axle and bent upwards about a half inch. Yes, this sucks!!!

    Got any pics of the damage?

    How wide are they? I think I got a set of mopar perches sitting in my toolbox, ill check the width and housing diameter

      I will post a pic in the am of the damage along with the size.
      Not very optimistic but hoping I can do a repair on the stockers.

      If not I will be cutting them off to replace them this weekend.

          Took a couple pics of the damage just now when I got home. I will see if I can post them in the am.

          Where is Smilies? Please let it be on the Ft Worth side of the world?

                  I buy mine through 4 wheel parts but mikes offroad on 121 in haltom city carry them.
