Why do you care what anyone thinks? If a winning lotto ticket finds my hands, I'm buying a new gt500 and putting the engine out of a zr1 in it, and may switch the other way just to shit on the chevy guys. May even do a powerstroke conversion in a dodge.

Brand loyalty? Great idea.
Why don't you put a billet-blocked, twin turbo, Megasquirt flathead in there? It will cost fifty grand to make the same power as a stock LS1 on spray, but boy all those Ford nuts will sure think it's cool.
F'em. You're the one paying the bills. If you want your car to actually be fast and not worry about it shitting the bed when you want to spray or boost it, then go with the LS engine. When the government pays, the government controls.

^Nice attempt, lol.
LSx motors are hard to beat for the price, I picked up a spare 42000 mile (verified) complete 4.8 for $350.
Stock 302s are going for that much, hell, whiteboy wanted to charge me 1k for a 5.0 (complete) and a t5 and it was form an 86.Ded

All I'm saying it the 289 I have in it now isn't the original and nor is the C4. In order to get my car to the power levels I want would require a complete rebuild and expensive aftermarket parts. None of the late model Ford motors will fit in my car with out a complete suspension redo, which aint happening. I do have a 351W sitting off to the side but it's a bare long block and would probably make about the same power as my 289. What other motors can be built to about 400hp for around $3k? Sure I could supercharge my current motor but it isn't gonna make a lot of power.
