If you want more power put an ls in some old shitbox fox. I have had a buttload of cars in the last few years but i still cant get my hands on a 60's stang like yours. My first car was a 64 1/2 with a 351, ran like a beast and chevy and ford guys both respected it.
lol @ comparing lsx swap vs. lt1

Looks like I would need a GTO pan as well since I have a front sump now.

Will a conventional style GM trans bolt up to the LSx?

yep, the top bolt is not present on most old school trans and the one next to it is not tapped on the lsx, but all of the others are the same. you will need a custom converter or a converter spacer which are inexpensive (~$40)

I wonder if I could use the S10 truck 4.3 trans NV3500 5 speed since everyone wants an arm and leg for the T56. I could just stick another auto in it.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Like you said, You could convert it back. Just keep your old motor on ice.

You can cut the towers out and a K member similar to a fox one is available to bolt in to your car and convert it to a McPherson style suspension. Saw it done on a '63 fairlane recently. Richard Painter's, daughter's ride.

Not interested in all that as I have a fairly expensive suspension/steering set-up on it now. If the motor is as big as a Windsor, it should fit fine. Now to find the parts and $$ to do it. I'd sell my current combo to source the funds.

There is a 4.8L truck that had a 5 speed. I think it's an NV3500 as well, but has the correct bellhousing for the LSx platform.

                            This guy has it.

I almost went with an LSX in my '95 Cobra and people would have shit themselves knowing I did that to a 100% virgin low mileage 12 year old car. But truth is, it would have been 1/3 of the cost of what I have in it now.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
