Well we went to the track today, after about 8 passes, we finally hit the stupid 8s. Unbelievable, the car just does not like the Goodyear drag radials. I am going to give it one more go next week, with some E85 and see if I can't bust a 8.7, then its slick time and low 8's. The car did better at the dale, til I heated the clutch, and my last pasted could not hit 2nd or 3rd. I will have to adjust it out this week. The timing was also at around 8 degrees. We have it around 14 right now. Thats when I hit a 8.

Damn, my auto 289 w/2.80 gears will do 9.0's on DR's. Seem like you need a driver mod

It wont hook, R/T is .10 60 ft and 330 due to spinning sucks. I can not make it hook. When we put timing in it, it went 8s but, I can not make it hook. At a 3k launch its still spinning. I am hitting my shifts perfectly, the tires maybe to tall like some have said. I am not staying in 3rd with 3.73s.

In just giving you a hard time. Get some fresh tires and see where it's at.

How are you running E85 without a tune, different injectors, different pump, different plugs etc?

I want to trade you drag radials for sure. I am telling you though, your tires 275/60, are too large for your combo. You need a 26" tall drag radial on your car.(Clutch issues) The 255/60's I have would be perfect for your 10 holes. I am trying to help us both here.

what is the mph, should tell a little more of the story if you can't get the 60's down. my trap speed is pretty much always the same regardless of my 60', even if the et is way different.

There is no way you should be shifting out of a 3rd with a 28" tire NA with your combo. Maybe your aren't spinning. Maybe your clutch is the issue.

I could spray a 175 shot on a similar combo with 3:73 gears and 26" tires and stay in 3rd.

Put it in 5th at floor it at a low speed and RPM and see if it is slipping.

Best so far was a 8.9 @79mph. After I bumped his timing at the track Sunday. After each pass u could smell cluttch

Only after that last pass. The other 6 I made didn't smell. I will cover more on the fuel system when I get home. I woke up late and I am walking out the door.

Why would you not fix this after it was discovered at the cruise?

your car is running similar to mine. about all I can trap is 79-80 with the stock gt40 heads/e cam/3.73 and street tires.
