No doubt on that. When I got a clean launch on my coupe, with Goodyears drag radials, They hooked hard, then I screwed up missing a gear...

Looks like Nittos are the only ones in 255. I guess I could find some steel wheels if the Nittos aren't any good.

I have MT et street radial 315/35 R17's on the cobra. They hook their ass off. And I'm making over 450 ft/lbs at the start of a pull (1800 rpm's or so). I notice very little spin if I get into it hard when they are dead cold, but it doesn't spin enough for me to even think about getting out of it. I don't think that I'll ever try another radial on the car.

Could be just me but i couldn't ever get Nittos to hook. I want to buy some m/t if I ever get my finances in order.

i had 275/17 nitto 555r at one time. they didn't hook up for me. i switched over to a 26x11.5 e.t. street on a 15" weld and never looked back. however, the m/t drag radial is equally effective. common sense will tell you that the nittos are not a soft compound because they come with a tread rating.

I may just get some cheap 15's and run ET streets in a 10.5 or narrower.
