Jut or just Dynamat

I have the dash and out of the cobra right now (again ) and have the oppurtunity to remove the jut padding and install Dynamat that I have left over against the firewall. I would kind of like to get rid of the jut all together since it is always in the way. Will the Dynamat do just as well or better by itself?

You should use some kind of additional padding over the Dynamat Xtreme. The Stinger Roadkill Carpet Pad works great. It is a sheet of vinyl with closed cell foam bonded to it. I would do two layers of Xtreme if you can and then add the Stinger carpet pad.

Yes, the factory firewall insulator would be better than just one layer of Dynamat Xtreme.

But better with it all together. I don't think you'll notice much difference though. Just my experience. The closed cell foam has given me the greatest return. I love that stuff.

WHAT! Have to call bull shit on that one, Dynamat will keep the heat down better, Less noise, wount hold smells, and will last forever. The only down side is it's a mother fucker to remove.

here is what I did in there a few years back. Now I have the dash out and am thinking of running it up the firewall too.



I did the doors and for a convertible, it is like shutting the door on my mom's LS400....solid. Maybe not quite that good but you get the point, no rattles, no twang etc.

I am trying to knock as much of the engine bay noise and heat down as I can.

Factory liner mat is still on the hood but you have a point. I may want to up it I just don't want a big shiney under hood when I raise the hood up.

If you do the under hood, put in some SPL tiles while youre there. I bet you an trim the liner to fit around the factory piece or at least dye/paint it.
