I've run a 295 PS2 on an 11'' wheel and the balance is perfect. Having your sidewall hanging an inch outside of the rim (see cobra sig above) is actually worse than running a tire a little too small on a wheel. I could go on but to cut it short, don't do it unless you're trying to impress some mullets at the local dirt track.

Haha I do know the performance backing and negatives behind it. I put the 275's because I thought i was going to buy 2 replica 93 cobra wheels for the back which are a wider rim and would fit the tires better. just haven't got around to it =)
oh... and the mullets love the tires!1993 Vibrant Red Cobra #1741.
If you want more inches - Stroke it!!!

I run 295/45/20 on a 8.5" rim on my truck."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

Depending on what brand the tires are some brands run a little larger than other brands. To test out this theory compare a Goodyear tire to a Michelin PS2. There's almost a half inch diff. from sidewall-to-sidewall with all else being constant. Also, running too big of a tire on too small of a wheel will make the tire 'crown'. You may think you're getting a bigger contact patch but you're riding more on the center of the tire than the entire width of it.
