By comparison, my old '01 WS6 put down 401rwhp with a off the shelf TSP cam and headers, and that was a mild combo...

Best thing you can do with that LT1 is leave it the hell alone and save up for an LSx...
Not sure how much you paid for the C4 but LS1/F-bodies are the new fox body, just getting cheaper and cheaper....
Sure, the LSx is a overall better platform, but the LT1 wasn't that bad. Everything I am reading shows 380-400RWP with a H/C/I system, could be people exaggerating their numbers though.

Same can be said for the modular engine. 400RWP is iffy on a modular's internals. You are talking about the LT1 having 300/330 to start vs a modular 260/300. Then you start talking about how well the LT1 responds to simple bolt ons compared to the modular. To me and yes I have owned both, the LT1 is a step above the Mod motor. Is the LS1 better? Absolutely, but I think the LT1 gets a bad rap for no reason.

Damn good price. You interested in selling those extra wheels? I think they would look bad ass on my Fireturd.

Never been a Vette fan myself, but if you like it that's all that matters. It needs to some help appearance wise for sure, mainly the wheels.

LOL those gauges you're so proud of are not linear so they're hard to read properly. At least the cluster in yours is much more reliable than the early C4 clusters; those are shit. It's also common for the Bose system to have problems with the amplifier.
I hate to break it to you but the weight of your C4 is very close to an LS-1 F-body Camaro.
I think they are cool cars and at least your '96 is a much better car than the early ones. Not what I would choose for a daily but it looks like you got it for a decent price.

To own a car like this you must start snorting cocaine, wear a Hawaiian shirt and listen to van halen. White pants are a plus but not a must

You people are fucking crazy. If they're in the same condition, ANY C4 Vette is a better car than a '96-98 Cobra.

A friend of mine used to have an '89 Vette with the Doug Nash 4+3 trans. He bought it with a broken piston. He replaced all eight with standard-bore forged flat top TRWs, added a mild cam, and did a basic 3-angle valve job. That car ran high 10s reliably with a 150 shot. I'd love to see that with a non-Termi mod motor car.

The LT1 cars are even better. Shake the haters, and enjoy your Vette. I'd go ahead and swap the water pump before it shits the bed all over your Optispark.
