One of my favorite body styles, but they have issues as the miles go up. If you can work on it yourself, it should be a fun project though. My '96 GS was a lot of fun, right up to 130k miles. After that it bled me dry, a nickle and dime at a time.

By comparison, my old '01 WS6 put down 401rwhp with a off the shelf TSP cam and headers, and that was a mild combo...

Best thing you can do with that LT1 is leave it the hell alone and save up for an LSx...
I have to agree. Lt1s are okay, but don't mod them...they blow up and cost a bunch of money for not that much power. Save up and keep the vette reliable

Not sure how much you paid for the C4 but LS1/F-bodies are the new fox body, just getting cheaper and cheaper....
Paid $4.5k. Came with and extra set of c5 wheels and tires.

looks good for the price. Most people want a fortune for them because they have plastic pieces that say "corvette"

In that aspect you did just fine honestly, just dont dump money into it and youll come out ahead when you get tired of that slow LT1

I also owned an LT1 too, first car was a 95 Z28, fun car but night and day compared to my 01 WS6

I like that model vette. LT1's love boost. There is a guy on CL with a bunch of LT1 speed parts. I would change the wheels to GS/ZR1, slam it, tint it and run straight pipes. Be done with that.

ditch those c5 wheels and find a set of staggered zr1's, it will improve the look 100x and they don't cost that much. (the offset on the c5 wheels makes that car look funny IMO).

my best friend had a 95 just like that (with staggered zr1's), and with the exact same mod's (literally, he had bullets though and the 3 filter k&n setup and a pcmforless tune, was also an a4), he went 13.6@99 (8.8@83). his had the red leather interior. he ended up ramping it over a median and destroying the suspension/under body of the car though and it was totaled out (hope this is a different car, should be if it is a 96).

i actually really like those cars, the lt1 gets a bad name, but i used to wipe up some lsx cars with my old t/a that just had longtubes and a cc306 cam. if i were you i'd look into doing a 24x conversion (get rid of the opti, upgrade to MUCH improved PCM)
http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...omponents.aspx, then look at doing nitrous or boost and a trans swap (4l60 will crap out sooner then later). i believe those cars got the dana 44 which i believe is a pretty stout rear end.

on second thought his zr1's wern't even staggered, they were the ones off an ss (even cheaper), look at how much better they fill out the wheel well (and look how sexy my t/a was )

I had the true ZR1 rims on my turdmaro. Man did it make the rear look good with 315s on an 11" rim
