I cried when I watched my 55' Chevy Bel Air drive away. My first car when I was around 12 or 13. I moved on to other cars and got over it. ...not really I still miss that car.

i felt the same when i sold my '89 ranger. most reliable vehicle i've ever owned. however, it's now living it out it's life as a ranch truck. still hear from the buyer now and then. truck is still running on the factory 2.3, trans, fuel pump, starter, etc.. just a new timing belt. has about a quarter million miles on it now.

We have all been there. I nearly cried the day my 93 GT was gone. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. GL man.

I may be selling my Bobber tomorrow. Going to be sad to see it go but I'll be able to enjoy another build.

Still have my first car, the one in my avatar. Was giving to me by my stepmom when I was 13(31now), she bought it 2 years old in 84. It had been sitting out in the weather for about 3-4 years at our shop, 1\4 vinyl top fried, bumper fillers gone, faded paint, velour interior, 14" hubcaps. Jumped it off, drove it to the house on 4 cylinders (2 fouled plugs) and tinkered with it the next few years while waiting for a license. Cleaned the interior best I could, ripped out the headliner and cut the board out (later learned that's not how you remove one lol), pulled the vinyl top off, and picked up some 15 aluminum wheels. Wrecked it my senior year coming home in the rain. Should have just crushed it then if I'd been smart. Used bday money turning 18 and work to buy the cam, intake, carb, headers, etc, my dad paid for the machine work for graduation, and I had the shitty stock headed, low compression, at the time over carbed, gutless v6 that's in it today. Still wrecked I took the Street Rod and Custom Class at Grayson and spent the next 5 years, off and on, learning my dislike for body work a couple nights a week. Built the rear end, had my instructors brother do the final block/ wet sand and fix some of my blems (there's plenty more I assure you), and lay the color. Finally got it together enough to get tags and inspection around April 04. I've got a shit ton of money in parts, machine, head work, cam, pistons, girldle, block, etc etc etc for a 10:1 ported head, roller cam 3.8 to put a 250 shot on.

And to sum it up, for enough coin (got way to much time and $ in it to get a stupid offer I'd take I know) it could gladly go to another home. There's always other cars. The older I get the more I want to be able to comfortably cruise down the highway, hear myself think, enjoy heat, a\c, and power steering, and if I can do that and put down a little power I'm pretty pleased.
