damn header gasket

I keep blowing the damn header gasket and its pissing me the hell off, anyone ever have this problem and how did u solve it??

I always either use copper or the thick 3 layer aluminum gaskets. Never had a leak from either.

Look at the remflex gaskets

I use Felpro 1415 gaskets and BBK longtubes with no problems. I also prefer the Mr.Gasket header bolts (#917) because they are 1" long for better clamping and less likely to back out. You'll need two packs though as they come in packs of 12. O'Reilly carries them.

You might check the flange surface of the header and just confirm that it's completely flat.

Also, make sure you retighten after a heat cycle or two. Leaking header gaskets suck.

Remflex, Google for their website, they have a huge crush on the gasket. Will take care of any small imperfections and flange warp. No retorque needed, but one time use only My only bitch

I like the Percy multi layer gasket. Have reused mine many times with 0 leaks.

copper rtv! a bead on each surface, let it "skin" or cure for 15-30mins and install. Then let it cure over night and then you can start it. I'll never use a gasket again.

Try mr gasket. My coupe was doing this crap, and when I put the mr gaskets on it, problem solved. I too was using felpro prior.
