  • Another thread about springs

I've never lowered any of my Mustangs. I've never been willing to give up what little ride quality a foxbody has to begin with. Now, the rear springs are worn out on my 92, and I don't want to risk replacing them with used stock springs that could be the same, or worse.

I've done some research, read some old threads, and now I want some opinions from some folks who've actually used these springs.

    -FoMoCo B springs

    -Eibach Pro series-(not drag springs)

-El Cheapos from Late Model Resto

Please do not confuse me further by adding more springs to the mix, these seem to be the ones most folks prefer.

Ride quality is the main question here.

ride quality will probably be a little better with FoMoCo's, but still not bad with Eibach pro series. Don't know anything about the LMR springs. Ride quality will also have a lot to do with what shocks/struts you are using with the springs...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Im open to suggestions on shocks/struts as well. They will be replaced at the same time as the springs.

My hatch had C-springs on it and they were kidney busters. Just cut the stock springs.

Ride quality has more to do with how well the strut/shock is matched to the spring rate than it does with the spring itself. With that said, most of your perception of ride quality comes from the rear springs

I know you said not to add other vendors to the list but my preference is H&R sports for a daily driver. Matched with some quality struts/shocks and you'll be amazed at how nicely it can ride

as i've stated before in similar threads, the frpp b springs on my '00 maintained an almost stock ride quality with a .75" drop in rear & 1.25" drop in front. i now have eibach's on an '03 and the ride quality is that of a sherman tank. if i had the time or energy, they would be in the trash.

H&R Sport with Bilsteins make for a nice ride. I've had that combo on a few cars.

My Eibach pro-kit combined with Tokiko Illumina 5-ways rode much better than AL P's tokiko's + ford C-springs.

Now i have Bilstein's coupled with MM Coil Overs w 450lb springs. Rides very very compliant for how firm it is. It's not bone-chattering at all, we were all suprised.

Another vote for H&R and Bilstein combo. Lowering was perfect and the ride was firm but unbelievably comfortable. Felt very connected to the road.

After installing coilovers in my current ride, I will never again put stock type springs in my car.
