The same way you solder a ring terminal connector after it has been crimped. It is nice to have both methods of contact, makes for a stronger splice or connection.

wow... remind me not to let some of you work on my shit!

          Don't twist and solder... lol.

Use butt connectors. Crimp wires in and use solder to fill the void between wire and butt connector. Solder follows heat, so it will actually "pull" towards the heat, even up a wire.
If you're going to use shrink tube, apply it to one side of the wire before you solder everything up lol. if not, use the Super33 electrical tape.. not the junk from HF or the like.

Part of my job for the last few years has consisted of 12v installs. If you take the quick easy way out, you're almost guaranteed another visit from the same problem you're currently having.

Kyle, I have twisted and soldered like above for years and never had a failure due to a solder joint. But I will gladly not ever work on your stuff for you

EXACTLY. Who even buys butt connectors with plastic on them anyway? I was assuming that everyone knows that you have to use a "non" insulated connector.

It's not hard. Tin your wires beforehand with solder if your not crimping and j hook the wires. If you think your using too much solder you probably are because it's wicking up the wire. Clean the joint with alky afterwards to get rid of any flux left over if your using solder with flux and heatshrink it.

Soldering a couple wires is easier then changing the oil. You are going to be hard pressed to find someone to come to you. Try the other way around. I am in Haslet though so not very wise to travel my way for a few quick wires.

My tip for you. This is a simple spray can lid that I cut to hold the wires.

Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Those things help out a lot, and Harbor Freight has them.

Buy a iron with more than 35 watts. It takes forever to heat up wires with a 35 or less.
