Call this guy for parts. He should have just about anything and really knows his buicks. He doesn't text so call if you need something.

There are a few more local turbo buicks to be found at lspbcforums.net.

Thanks ! I didn't realize how hard it is to find parts for them, I'm alreading already thinking about converting it to a cold air car but i told myself i was going to leave it all original.

        +1
Greg Kring is a super nice guy. He has built some badass cars over the years too.

If your going to convert it over...my advice is don't try to do it piece by piece....not saying it can't be done but its a pain. If you can...search for a wrecked 86/87 thats complete...or one thats been left for dead(they do exist).
In 2001 I picked up a RUNNING 100% stock 87 Turbo T for $1200 that had the front end caved in....that I found in the Dallas Morning News classifieds. AFTER doing the conversion...I parted out my hotair setup and the remainder of the 87 for FAR more than it cost to do the conversion. If you simply want to make your hotair setup run smoother, more efficiently, install an 86/87 ECM (don't forget to pull an intake air temp sensor from a FWD 3800 car or you'll have a SES light on). My hotair ran MUCH better with just the ECM upgrade and a Jay Carter street chip. If your motor is in good cond. I wouldn't convert it to an 87 drivetrain unless your goal is sub 12 timeslips. You'd be surprised how fast you can make those hotair cars run with good tuning. I know several people who have gotten them into the 11's in streetable condition.

The module is something I should have known since I upgraded my hotair to an 87 ECM and 87 coil and module before I did the full blown conversion. Hopefully I will get mine back on the road before I die from old age or the world ends..whichever comes first.

ours is getting really close to being done. rebuilt the entire rear end and got rid of the 2.73's and open diff someone put in it and put an eaton and 3.42's in it along with all new rear a-arms. apparently it just hooks now instead of destroying the right rear tire. I haven't driven it yet but the wife says it has woken up a bunch! All i have on my list is the driver seat cover and steering wheel which we have in hand, just need to spend a saturday and install them. the car is then DONE....except for leaking door windows. We put 2 coats of the meguires "black" wax on it last month and it looks badass!!!!

we put some drag radials on it last weekend and finally thinking of driving it more.

Still not comfortable with long trips without a trailer following but totally need to have our version of Ford vs. buick at the next cruise!

anybody got a 2004r sitting around they don't need. I'm looking for a buildable core for mine. I've not been happy with the 2004r (monster transmission out of florida built it) in my car since I converted from a 3 speed. I've got a good stock style 2004r lockup converter I just pulled from it if anyone needs one pm me, it has 3-4k miles on it.

You do realize that a standard issue 200-4r is not the same as the BRF 200-4r as used in the 86/87 TR and 89TTA. It can be built to about the same quality but the valve body is different. You toss a run of the mill 200 in there and it will melt down with a quickness. I'm using the original 200 that came in my 85 GN but it has been HEAVILY built...by ME and another LSPBC member who knows them well. Can't really say how strong it is because its only been down a track about 10 times...but those 10 passes were the fastest the car has ever been...and it was shifting like a dream when I damaged the head gaskets.

Yes I understand the difference, I didn't when I purchased mine many years ago and not so many miles. I went back into and installed the transgo hd2 kit and it helped some with my shifting woes. The other fight was with the governor and wide open throttle shifts. Once I have the new motor setup together and installed, I'll make the decision for the new gear ratio, and finally have my trans guy go through and rebuild my current trans or build a different one. I'm thinking my new combo will probably have a redline in the 5800-6200 range and I'll step down from the 4.11 to a 3.73 or mid 3 series gear.

When you replace those bumper fillers....try to find some of the hard plastic or fiberglass ones and paint them....the factory rubber ones will fall apart after about 5-7 years.

Agreed on bumper fillers, my fronts are plastic aftermarket and still look great. My rears, now completely gone again, were oem parts, they made it about 5 or 6 years before they started cracking. This was with the car spending 95% or more in a garage.

We stole this car as it needed head gaskets and a few tweaks under the hood. Someone spent a lot of time on the body work after replacing the right rear quarter panel. Has a couple paint chips and one scratch we need to have looked at but it's a VERY nice 20 footer! Picture was right after a claybar and 2 coats of the "black" wax....needs tint bad!

I had an 84 GN right wth the leather insert interior (lingenfelter I think but don't hold me to it) after high school (in 97) I LOVED that car. I wish I could find a decent roller so I could do a turbo LS in one

not mine but same interior if I remember correctly
