Tire size killing me

Do you think the tires size is killing my 60ft and mph.. A 28x9 slick on a heads cam intake car.

Did have 327 gears in it. Just put 4.10s

Perhaps. I ran 26x11.5 because the 28" was reducing my gear ratio and hurting my short times, i.e., 60ft. / 330ft. However, every set up is different and will yield different results.

4.10's w/a 28" tire is not hurting you much if any. I'd keep the setup for the future. I am running 3.73's and 28's and am going through the traps at ~6000rpm in third @ 120, I need to step down to a 3.55 (29.5's wont fit)

My coupe had a stock headed 302 with equal lengths, pulleys, TrickFlow intake and an E cam. And a set of lower control arms with 4.10's. It went 8.20's, 5 spd car. I had 26x9 slick's on it. 60ft was usually 1.75ish. I knew it was moving pretty good when I would have to go into fourth. I miss that car, it ran damn good for what it was.

5 speed car or auto?

Id borrow a set of 26's if you could. Mine ran best on hoosier 27 inch tires on the street on motor.

On spray i needed 28's with a 5 speed. Never got to try it.

I cant speak for a auto, but with a 4k stall I would not think so. I have ran 28x10.5s with 4.10s and a tremec. My coupe has 275/60/15's 3.73s and a tremec. I will know more about the times saturday. I ran this size before, and ran a 8.20 at 82 mph with a very very emission friendly build. I pulled a 1.6 60 foot too. With 4.10s and the same tire, I pulled a 1.5 60 foot.
