Yea.....GM stopped producing them (I think) and the last time they provided them they were priced right at $500...for a piece of plastic.
People steal them to replace their stolen one that someone stole and sold lol!

It usually because it's hard to find body parts for cars that only made a 3 year production run and were built in Australia. Or more simply, it's just plain ridiculous to replace panels and trim pieces at retail prices. For example, if you want to buy new front & rear OEM badges, it's $300+. This seems to encourage theft. That's why I keep mine garaged. People like to steal the diffusers on the '05 & '06 models, which is one problem I don't have to worry about.
