Like me, all these guys are speaking from experience. I took a helluva loss on my car, but similar to you I did not have the finances to continue and improve.

It's similar to selling a home, most improvements turn into sell points. Maybe demanding a higher price, but never what you put into them. The joy of a car, is that it's MUCH easier to yank parts and sell them on the side and get market value on the car. I was just too lazy and did not have the resources to make that happen. Your blower is not installed yet, so just sell it and the car separate. I don't know the cost of ring replacement, but it really opens the buyer market if a vehicle is in good running condition.

Otherwise you're limited to gearheads, which know they can yank ya around on price and will do so.

Jeremy, seriously... either scrape up $1,000 and rebuild it (rings, bearings, gaskets, etc) and have a 420-430whp Cobra on stock guts or sell all the performance parts bit by bit and dump the car on CL for $3,000.

A JY Cobra motor for $200??? Never. Ever. Now, maybe a Mark motor, but then you have to swap everything around and replace gaskets anyways on a setup that might be just as work out.

Shadow drove home a 93 mark for 300.

150k miles. Swapped on a cobra intake, dropped it into his GT, and made 300/28X with LTs and a tune.

He's currently hoarding a couple longblocks; he might sell though.

Don't have much to offer but a small tid bit of wisdom.

Never modify your one and only car in any way that risks leaving you stranded.

If you have two vehicles it is okay to modify them both if you have the coin.

I hate to see people do this. It happens way too often. People just don't manage the finances correctly. Hotrods are for after you own a house, have a couiple years pay in the bank, and have another vehicle to drive. Nice hotrods anyway.

I'll trade you my 92 F150 XLT straight across for it with no blower. My F150 is extended cab, 5.0L with an automatic, 138K miles runs and drives great. Only thing wrong is the rear gas tank doesn't work and it has a pretty good dent on the drivers side bed.
