    Does it go.....clatter clatter clatter?

    If so, it's running fine

Perhaps you should describe your issues......

        intermittent rough idle....

At times when idling, it seems to be rougher than normal.

Also, I've noticed the the warmer the engine is, the better it runs. You can feel the turbo kick harder once the engine is fully warmed up.

        Is this normal ??

It does not have any warning lights coming on....so I assume this it just normal operation

That's pretty normal. They aren't the smoothest running engines.

any white smoke? i would start by changing the oil with some motorcraft 15w40 and change out the fuel filter. If that dosen't work you're looking at some injectors or o-rings.

Is it fairly hard to press or easy. I replaced mine on my 95 at 186k. It would shake the whole truck when you cranked it for a minute or so. I put a
Luk in there and it made it all dreamy and easy to press with no more shakes. The dual force (???) clutches have a stupid amount of parts.

If you're needing anything done or needeing it looked at I recommend Eric @ Specialized Diesel in Crowley 817-240-7286
He's rebuilt my tranny with same warranty as Ford gives, replaced the ball joints, replaced water pump, installed an HPX crossover without removing or messing with anything (directions tell you to remove turbo and other stuff), and has done some other stuff.
If he's expecting you, when you go there he pretty much gets to work on your truck. I've waited on everything except the tranny.
When my tranny went, he helped set up the tow and it was towed on a Thurs. morning and I picked it up and had it back Sat. afternoon.
He's good people and a great diesel tech. He's 53miles from me, worth the drive.
                          2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
