Sucks...

I've got a broke piece located where the black instrument cover connects to the back of the dash. It seems to be a common problem with fox body mustangs. Is there any way to fix the piece or do I have to buy a complete new dash?

And why does everything rattle?

If you could somehow glue a speed nut to the dash it would work. I'm not sure what adhesive would work best.

Everything rattles because it's fast.

Not sure what exactly is broken, but I'm sure if you got creative you could fix it. if not, a dash is actually pretty cheap, and not too hard to replace.

As far as the rattles, just start fixing them one at a time! I daily drive my 92 LX, and it's got no rattles at all. Look for loose or missing hardware, seems like when people take these things apart, the hardware gets lost. Or they don't know what goes where, and stuff gets installed incorrectly.

I have only one rattle in that stupid car, the button in the e-brake handle, and I can't figure out how to get it to stop. Drives me nuts.

My e brake handle will vibrate on occasion, all I have to do is move it to the side and it quits. One of these days I'll find one in better shape than mine and replace it.

I had the same thing broken on mine too. I pulled the dash, used some aluminum, think it was like 1/8 thick and riveted that in place. Then, drilled a hole and put a speed nut on the aluminum. Worked like a champ and mounted solid.

Yeah this good advice. I had this problem back when I had my fox and the rattles were awful. But one by one, i found them all and fixed them all until none remain .

Now instead of rattles i have creaks with my sn95 model car. the door panel creaks and the center console creaks but no rattles. just creakiness

I used some epoxy on the back of the instrument panel cover, same location as yours I think. Held for years, I didnt have any rattles after that..Was sooo nice..haha

I would use epoxy but I'm going to get a florida50 gauge cluster and I don't want to keep gluing it. Now my Autometer tach and water temp gauge stopped working. I think I should of stayed with SN95 stangs.

Dont get discouraged, just keep fixing things as they come up. These cars aren't getting any younger, so things break. SN 95's are getting older too, so eventually you'd be fixing it.

Not sure what panel you need exactly, but i'd check late model restoration supply, and junkyards. its around somewhere you can find it. Even ebay

LMR doesn't carry whole new dash kits.

IIRC, the fox dash comes off at the top... can't remember. Never had to pull mine but I had a buddy that did.

If so, maybe you could recover it? Or send it off to justdashes.com. It aint cheap but they come back brand new .
