  • Where in the world can I get a clutch cable for my 91 2.3 fox that will fit?!

I've gone to Autozone and Orielly's and the Pioneer and the ATP cables do not work. The clamping piece on the end of the cable is too big to fit inside the U shaped piece that connects it to the trans. Do they still have them at dealerships?

I was hoping to find some place locally so I didn't have to wait on it. Well they (5.0 resto) don't have it for the 2.3 cars. They have the small 3" from the fork to the bell crank but not the long cable.

Ebay is no help so far. They are selling the same ones as the parts stores. Only one on craigs I could find has been sold already.

Which one di you get from Autozone? The ATP they sell now didn't fit mine. I had to replace the 60" cable. The clamp on the end of the cable at the trans side was too big to fit.

I ended up going to NAPA and their cable was close, so I just had to do a little bit of grinding on the u-shaped piece.

I needed to get to work Monday so I couldn't wait for the Ford house to open.

Ah, gotcha. I just remember a bunch of people used to have problems with the parts store cables on 5.0/T5s and the reply was to always get the OEM cable from the dealer. I wasn't sure if that was the case for a 2.3.

Yeah I put a OEM cable on my old 5.0 car, wish I could have waited to do the same for this one.
