  • Possible broken ring? Shooting oil out pcv.

Ran the pcv valve open and after this last pulley change its spraying oil out and smoking all over the Place. What's really odd is that when the oil cover is open it puffs smoke ( exhaust? ) I've got a vid coming. Power has dropped off too.

Yup, sounds like you popped a ringland or two. A compression test would tell you a lot right now.

just curious , how many miles are on your cobra ?
I sprayed 175 shot to my daily driver 97 cobra for a long time. Hell I had a 96Gt with 175,000 with a Novi and 11psi and never had any trouble.

Damn that sucks man. At least now you can upgrade and crank up the boost.

Are you saying you removed the line from the pcv valve and left valve open and its spraying oil?

Were you running a pcv on a supercharged engine?

first off, you shouldnt run it "open" but with a baffled breather, if anything. An improvement on that would be a breather with a catch-can.

It's a lot of crankcase pressure NA. Toss boost into the equation and its 10x worse.

12 lbs of boost on stock short block + cooler weather = bye bye ringlands. Bet you beating on it when it let go.

It kind of gradually let go.
