I took my truck to a dealership to have them diagnose it. They are telling me that my pcv valve is bad. Also they are telling me that I will need to have my pcm reflashed for my truck to work properly. Any truth in what they are saying?

I don't know why it would need to be reflashed if it was running correctly when you first bought it and hasn't been flash tuned since. -

I took my truck in because it had an issue at idle. It would continually go up and down at idle. They dealership told me that my pcv valve was bad and after it was replaced, I would need the pcm reflashed. I've replaced plenty of parts on my truck without having to have the pcm reflashed. When I called bull, the service tech retracted her statement and said that the pcm reflash was recommended. Those people still tried to charge me 388.45 afterwards. They tried to charge me 43.00 for a pcv valve. Long story short, I paid nothing at all.Comment
