  • help me decide: should I do a cam swap in the 69?

I have held off doing an 4brl/intake on the 69 trying to decide if I wanted to swap cams. I have an F cam on the shelf, and can order a set of link bar lifters to put it in while I have the intake off.

But should I? Hell they make repop cams that are the same specs as the factory in mine, marketing them as "muscle car cams"

I'd like a little more rumble, but it sounds great, so I keep talking myself out of it.

Here is a sound clip of the idle (hope this link is correct, the mobile sight doesn't give me the url)

Why limit your choices to stock of F cam?

Because I have the stock one in it, and the F on the shelf from another project. I also have a comp xe274, but wouldn't go through the hassle of a swap for it.

I like how it sounds as is.. Well, based on when I heard it in person. Didn't waste my time on the clip.

I contemplated that originally, but just don't feel the need to spend the money on it, the car isn't fast, and doesn't need to be.

And that, it's been dead reliable so far...
