  • 87 Turbo Coupe needs help ASAP!!!

Today I decided to do a tune up on my 87 TC. Now I have it all back together and it has a buck/miss/jerk? The parts I replaced were Cap, Rotor, Wires, Plugs, and I did a oil change. Its a stock car and stock intercooler also.

It runs fine for a sec then acts like it wants to die like a buck, then it picks its self up again. It does this at idle and if im driving normal.

If I go full throttle it acts completly fine. Boost is good to the stock 15psi, power is good, and there is no buck. But go back to driving it normal and its back to bucking/jerking. it died on me once and fired right back up.

Guys I really need to find this and get it fixed! Please help if you can, work comes at 5am
That MF'er is prolly so fast it would be like riding a big giant can of rape named bubba just outta prison set free in a girls college dorm.

Try swaping the cap and rotor back to the original one. I've seen some bad ones before

Plug wires hooked up wrong? Knock a vacuum line off?

Put the stock plug wires back on. The turbo coupes do not like aftermarket wires.

Tommy they are borg warner stock replacements. The old ones are so wore out they were breaking off as I swapped them.

take them back and go buy some motorcraft wires. also, what plugs did you get?

Sounds like a vacuum hose is cracked or disconnected.

I would not discount the distributor cap as mentioned above. I would replace with a Motorcraft one only in this case.
