Yeah. My SC had major vacuum leaks, only pulling 15 inches at idle and it was doing the same thing, bucking and misfiring, but not at WOT. Sealed the intercooler pipes and it did fine. Also had a Mark VIII that I got two wires mixed up, shook at idle, but ran fine at WOT.

Well it really doesnt shake at idle. Its like a intermittent miss, but its a pretty hard miss.

And I dont understand why me not having a Motorcraft cap or wires would make this happen.

Those are strange little motors. I put a set of nice Taylor wires on mine one time but had to go back to OEM wires.

The turbo Limas are very particular about ignition parts. Motorcraft all the way from coil to plugs.

Yep. Yep. Yep. Do this first and then get back with us. Sorry it's such a PITA, but it just is. My car never ran worth a damn using any other ignition parts. Same for the fuel pressure regulator when (not if) you need to replace it.

Ok guys but the car was running great with the old setup I pulled off. that was a no name cap and rotor, Motorcraft plugs, and carcraft wires.

You must be nohousemike's brother everyone has said the obvious if the only thing you changed were plugs, wires, cap and rotor and it was running fine before. The problem is one of those four things.

No aftermarket wires for that car. I made that mistake as well. Go to the dealer and buy the original wires.

ps. I have some nice 2.3 stuff to sell!!!!!

As said for the 100th time these are very paticular motors, orielly sells the MC wires nd plugs. Any thing else is hit and miss. Gap the plugs at .28". Same thing with pcv valves etc. Aftermarket ones just don't seal up, hell the factory ones don't either some times.best bet is get rid of pcv all together.

                              Plugs are motorcraft.
