  • Rear End Swap

Long story short... I have a rear end back in dallas that I believe has the stock ratio in it, and the one in the car now has 4.30's. I want to swap them... the stock one is sitting in the garage. How long of a task is this? I've never done it before. Any special tools needed?

Depending on how long the pinion nut has been on it may require a torch in order to remove. Other than that it's not that hard. Since you won't be able check backlash, if you're not worried about the gears possibly whining a little bit then go for it.

Are you wanting to swap gears or axle housing assemblies?

THIS would be the shiz. I drive this car back and forth from dallas... I'd like to find someone with 3.73's or similar that wants to swap and knows how to do so! I'll be in Dallas this coming weekend.
