Short Block/Long Block

Looking for a shop to get a block built and machined. Wells Racing in Duncanville wont do any stock just pure racing engines. Any suggestions

A buddy of mine swears by Long Racing Engines. I have also heard good things about Charles Automotive Machine in Arlington.

My dad had a 427 built by Charles Automotive machine and he was very happy with it. He has known Charles for about 40 years.

There is no way I would go to Wells for anything. That being said I sure as hell wouldnt take a stock build to Charles Machine or Morgan's. They are great machine shop and builders but way too expensive for a stock rebuild. Now if its a performance build I wouldnt hesitate to call either shop.

Hit up Arlington Machine shop, they mostly do stock stuff and their prices reflect it. Good work too.

If you are doing stock just pick up one of those $697 50resto shortblocks

Blaines in Dallas did an FE for me with 10.0 to 1 and balanced for me as well as a Olds 455 and a 5.0 short block. Great work
