My brother called me today about his 03 Ranger Edge which he believes is a 4.0. He says the truck will idle fine but when his driving it will start making a squeak or sputter noise. On top of that, it will get worse and then affect acceleration as if it's fixing to die. This is very vague and I'm sorry. I haven't made it to flower mound to listenable or see it but I figured some of y'all might have had this in there rangers.
Side note: 82,000 miles, auto, and he is good at keeping up with the oil and tune ups. I had him put a can of seafoam and good quality gas in it today. No difference. He said the sound he's hearing sounds like its more toward the firewall and not the front of the engine. I don't know...
