  • Head Gasket 04 powerstroke...

Any recommendation on a cheap shop? Looks like i need to possibly change out a head gasket. Looking at what typical cost for this is.

Not sure on costs but the labor is going to kill you. Cab off procedure for a head gasket. Then while your there you might as well put in head studs to prevent it from happening again.

Then let me throw a tune on it.

A friend of mine does business with him, he comes highly recommended. And yes, you're looking at a couple grand or more on the labor costs.

Ditto on the stud advise. I'd also do a new oil cooler, and an EGR cooler delete.

all sound advice on recommended upgrades. I've seen the cabs lifted at the local dealership when getting customer parts more than I can remember.

Make sure you do the correct mods to save yourself. ARP studs, EGR delete, and chip the piss outta it.

My buddy Bill...has a location in Keller and one in Haslet. I've sent several people over there from this board...always does good work at reasonable cost.

Thanks guys, definitely getting studs, egr delete, coolant filter and a tune. Gathering up all the parts I need first. It's Been down for about 4 months now but I had to get the mustangs taken care of first.

But if it's the cheapest then more then likely it has a hack job tuning.
