  • 1999 v6 oil pressure fluctuation

My 99 V6 has been doing this weird thing with its oil pressure. During the first 5 minutes of running the oil pressure gauge will drop to zero when I slow down or stop. If u rev the motor up it goes right back up to normal. After the car warms up a lil bit the gauge stays at normal all the time just as it should. Just had a fresh oil change bout a month and a half ago. Oil level is good. Has anyone else had this problem.

If you want more inches - Stroke it!!!

Funny....my 1989 does this same thing. At idle first thing in the morning it is fine, but after it warms up and you come to a stop the pressure falls to 0. Then when you barley give it gas, it comes right back up. Let off and it falls to 0. I replaced the Oil Sending Unit and it still does it!

I think it is a bearing going bad but the car does not use any oil regardless of how hard I beat on it

Are you serious? How do they go bad? This is my second Fox Body and my first one I only had long enough to do the interior and then I got rid of it

                Suggestions?

One thing I forgot to mention was that the pressure stays constant when going down the road. Sometimes the gauge will sit there and bounce a few times when it is idling, but eventually it will go to 0 and stay there until I go to accelerate.
