  • Fuel pump frozen

Went to replace a fuel pump on one of my fox bodies with some that I had on the shelf that came from running vehicles. It appears that the rotors inside the pump are rusted or stuck (after sitting for a few years). I have been soaking it in PB Blaster for a few days but no luck yet. Haven't tried heat or beating on it with a BFH yet. Any suggestions? Just hate to toss two pumps.

    Think about this..

You do all this work to free them up, to put them in a car?

Seems like they would be even more likely to fail and I wouldn't trust them.

Id toss them, not worth the work of fixing them and the having to replace them once the go out.

my suggestion follows the other two... toss them and get new ones... I have a used walbro 255 sitting on my shelf that I took off because it started making noise.. i only kept it incase I HAVE to have a pump one night to get the car home or something.. but I'd never put it back on as a driver

I've already ordered a new pump for it but there can't be that much wrong with these. There have been times in my life where I could'nt afford a new or used pump and I just thought that someone might have tried something before to just make it a few months longer. I think I will put the heat gun to it very carefully to see what happens.
