finally spoke to rick, seemed like a nice guy. He didn't have the normal "big block ford wtf is that" response that most the chebby shops have and said that "they are no problem" and he's "built a few" (or some i forget his wording) and he encouraged me to come buy and talk in person so that seemed encouraging. but I also got the feeling that it wasn't exactly his specialty either...

His specialty is engines. Once you go talk to him you will see. He is meticulous.

You don't have to specialize in one kind of engine to know what you are doing. You have to understand motors , clearances and machining. I have used Watt several times and Rick a couple times. I was happy with both.
Its always interesting to see what Watt is working on any given day. Last time I was in there he was bolting together a 550HP 4cly Subaru. The time before that he had a Y-block Ford and was doing something with a Ferrari part.

Bud Morgan over at Morgan & Sons Racing in Grand Prairie

I've also always had very good luck with Dennis Wells at Wells Racing Engines in Cedar Hill (More of a Chevy guy, but does them all)

For Ford's there is also Wayne Calvert up in Denton (Calvert Precision Engines)....Wayne does them all too, but he is more of a Ford guy.

Curious who he ended up going with. My only experience with watts was everything short of good. Will not ever personally use him. We use Kim Barr at the shop quite a bit with pretty good success. I also have a machine guy in southern Oklahoma that I personally use with 0 issues in the past 10-11 yrs. Pm me if you would like his contact info. He has dealt with bbf many times in the past.

I have known countless issues with Kim Barr as simple as leaving out 1 freeze plug and then for you to say that you got somebody up in Oklahoma, hahahaha.
Damn dude your really going out on a limb now!!!
Did you know that birds fly upside down when flying through Oklahoma?
Because, birds even know that there is nothing worth shitting on in Oklahoma!

He has experience with everything. You got his number, seeing that you are so inclined to know, why don't you call him and ask.
