I have a 2001 Ranger, 2.5/5-speed that I bought new. I have always changed the oil religiously every 3000 miles, I've done all the services, filters, plugs & wires .
I recently rebuilt the suspension with new upper & lower ball joints, sway bar bushings & endlinks and new shocks. I also replaced all the hoses - both radiator & heater hoses. I even put in a nice JVC stereo, speakers, amp & 8" subwoofer.
The truck looks & drives like new, but it does now have 150,000 miles. I've wondered about oil additives for high mileage engines. It doesn't burn a drop of oil & runs strong (for what it is). I know some of the beaters I drove when I was younger benefitted from various oil additives.
Are any of these any good? I've considered Slick 50 High Mileage, Rislone, Marvel Mystery Oil, and others from CD2, Casite, Gold Eagle & Bardal. Opinions.........
