  • Stock fox with longtubes.

I snagged a set of ceramic bbk long tubes and x pipe for the coupe.

Right now I have stock headers and an off brand o/r h pipe.

I've always heard that long tubes with stock h/c/I isn't ideal, because you loose low end torque. But you gain that in top end 4k+ rpm.

My question is, what kind of track time mph change should I see?

I'm at 81.7 mph now at 8.40.. Slow as balls.

I got them mainly for when I do h/c/I where they will make the most power.

I have some big flowmasters on the car now, anyone have a suggestion on what muffler would sound better? I'm really getting tired of the stock/quiet sound.

    I'd love some spintechs

do yourself a favor, cut the collectors off and buy some of these with a divergent collector. http://www.coneeng.com/

I would think you would see 1-2 mph gain.

Kooks headers have those already right? With the 'spike' In the center?

The purpose for that is to smooth flow at the collector and free up any turbulence caught at the flange?

Sweet that'd put me closer to 84mph.

You think my short times will suffer? Or just launch higher? Launching at 3500rpm now.

All parts will shift the power around, thats why you gotta pick combo's that go together.I have LT's on a stockish 95 cobra and it picked almost 2mph. The butt dyno felt the improvement as well

the explanation would make your brain smoke. the spike is meaningless for producing a wider power range, it just happens in a properly built merge collector due to geometry. you widen power range creating a venturi at the collector, basically the best of both worlds, small outlet diameter that has a draw from the venturi to keep up when moving lots of air later in the rev range.

Your short times already suffer cause you run crappy tires.

Dynomax super turbos, or dynomax ultra flos

Ultra flos are straight through, turbos are s shaped straight through.

                      Not for to much longer.

I should have some fresh smaller slicks next time out, with control arms too.

Just waiting on the torque box mod.

What do you expect your car to 1/8th mile?

                            No, but really.

Well. It will be retuned with meth, a 3.33, and straight-through mufflers then. So it should make 420-430 easy.

I don't really know what to expect. I know the car has mid sevens or better in it. Stock 5.0's are running 7.8x and my car makes better power, has 4.10's, is lighter, has dr's, and a bunch of suspension stuff. If I can hook and drive for anything, the car should have no issue with 7.5x's
