06 f150 windows actin' funky

my windows intermittently decide to work or not work. has only happened the last 2 or 3 days. when the windows wont work, pushing the button causes no noticeable draw on the system. it will also illuminate the mirror defrost button (while i'm holding the window switch up/down) and will short out the lights on the entire drivers door control panel..but only while im pressing up or down on the window switch.

any ideas?

is that where main power for all is routed?

it should be noted that none of the switches on any door work while it's doing this. i already took apart and "rebuilt" the switches when I got the truck - this doesn't appear to be the same issue.

It goes into the shop next week for some paint and body work, so maybe i'll toss it on their task list and see how far it carries.

I also found online in the rubber tube between door and cab, someone found a broken/frayed wire that was causing this issue on their truck. I figure it might be worth checking out, just haven't had time. it's dark and 20 somethign degrees out when I get home from work.

it acted all awesome for a while.. now it's fucked up again.

Got a master switch on order from NAPA, should show up tomorrow. Was only 64$. Didn't find any broken wiring in the cab -> door wire channel.

Yes, my master window switch. It didn't act weird like that though. That sounds like it is shorting somewhere, but if the windows do not work, then the switch is probly bad. Do the other switches work the windows?
