noob has F150 '01

..total noob question

Anything specific I should know or look out for when replacing the ignition coil on my ’01 F150 before I dive in? Looks easy as fuck, but I always underestimate shit like this.

The thing completely snapped off where it bolts to the intake. I can’t believe I was able to drive it home.. (3ish miles..)

Which motor? 4.2? Weren't they coil on plug in those years? Never worked on one, so I can't be sure. If it's a coil pack, just make sure that you remember where the plug wires go, or have a service manual on hand to remind you.

Yeah, that is a Coil on plug and there are 8 of those little buggars. Simple, just unbolt it, swap it, plug the new on back in.

You see, I installed the new coil, but it still was misfiring hard and I could feel the whole damn thing vibrating in place. I take it that means that I lost a plug? It's getting so much air pressure, so that's why it must have broken..

Can you confirm?

I do a shit ton of these, easy fix tho, Tap it out and install a time sert. Hope its a front plug, the back 4 are not that much fun. I always tape the tap to the extension to lessen the chance of it falling into the cylinder....if it does, you are pulling the head. Also confirm that the piston is down far enough that the tap can't contact it.
