Im currently overhauling an old 6.9 out of an 85 Ford for a relative and have a few questions... Does anyone have a recommendation for what rebuild kit to buy? There are a lot out there and I don't know which brands are reliable and which ones to avoid... Also does anyone have a suggestion of a good machine shop in the Ft. Worth area to take the heads to to get them reworked? Any and all help is appreciated...

The rebuild kit is made by Cummins and you can pick up an entire 12v motor for less time and money than it will cost you to rebuild that turd NA 6.9.
Not the answer you were looking for but a 12v solves your problem and makes for alot more fun when building it. -
They have a turbo set up on it and for some reason want to keep the 6.9... I found a 12v for cheap online and will try to persuade him to just go that route... Who knows maybe te cylinders will "trashed" and will force the changeComment
