  • more kingpin whoas. need tool help!

I know I just posted about this about 6 weeks ago, but the shop that did my kingpins may have screwed up. I had an inner wheel bearing fail and these were supposedly replaced when the front end was rebuilt. They are closed the rest of the week bc of the holiday so if I want the truck back on the road asap I've got to do the work myself.

I was lucky enough to get a hub and spindle from the junkyard to replace what was damaged. I don't want to put the spindle on the truck without replacing the bushings for the kingpin.

What I really need is a reamer to correctly size the holes after the bushings are in. If anyone has one and would be kind enough to let me borrow it, then I would be forever greatful! I read online and had a machine tell me that a brake cylinder hone could be used in a pinch if needed.

If you know how to do kingpins, then I would be willing to buy beer if you wanted to help. I'm borrowing some shop space for the remainder of the weekend so it's a neat and clean enviroment with plenty of tools and a press available.

    Thanks guys!

Well maybe I found what I needed! I swear I searched harbor freight's website yesterday and couldn't find what I needed. I guess the bordem from hanging out at my neighbor's got the best of me bc I found a set of adjustable reamers for $79.99! I'll be headed up there in the morning to pick them up.

    Thanks guys!

If the kingpins are that new, just get a properly sized bushing driver and swap the "newish" bushings and king pins to the new spindle.
