  • Installing a stock rear axle...

So, long story short, I inhereited 2 fox bodies (We will call the '89 A & the '87 is B to minimize confusion) from my brother, and at some point in time, he pulled the rear end out A, and put it in B. But he never got around to installed the rear end from B back into A... I've never pulled or installed a rear end, but I'm not a complete dumb ass either. Pretty mechanically inclined.

Anyways, I want to try and get the rear end put back in A this coming Friday, and I spent a little bit of time looking around for some kind of walkthrough, but was unsuccessful. So here I am. Is there any article any of you know of that will walk me through the process? Any tips?

    Thanks guys.

Pretty simple, assuming the control arms are stock, just bolt it in.

Upper control arms, lower control arms, and shocks.

The springs aren't a big deal just set them in place use a jack to move the rear end into place and the springs will compress.

Hook up the brakes, bleed them and call it a day. I swapped my axle in about an 1.5hours using hand tools and a floor jack. I left the brakes on the car though.

    Very simple.
