            Any time you open the brake system, you should bleed it. At least the lines that were opened.

            Do NOT spray brake cleaner in anything you want brake fluid to live. It leaves a residue that breaks down brake fluid.

              I didn't spray brake cleaner in it, and I gravity bleed the valve.

                It's not just air. There's no telling the contaminants that can get into the system.
