Old school stroker 302... with 351 internals?? Could i make it work in my current 89?

You need more information, like what pistons are in it. I wouldn't be scared of it for $300. Hell run it until it blows up.

Sounds like the guy is gankin yo chain! Does it have a 3/4 race cam...! Back in the day they would offset grind cranks and turn down the rod journals and run chevy or mopar roads with a specific height piston. I drove a 79 coupe with a 377 (351 based ) motor that was done this way. But this sounds like this guy saw you coming. As stated the deck height limits your rod legnth so this wouldn't make even close to a 362 unless it had like a 4.155 bore or some crazy shit.

as far as the op...what a waste. the crank will end up being the weak point. Or of course, the block as always! If you want a stroker, buy a stroker kit, or do a windsor swap.ALso, if it has stock heads and "400hp" tell him to put down the crack pipe

Wat? A 3.5" stroke by a 4.060" bore (a .060-over 351) will be exactly 362 cubic inches, regardless of the rod length or deck height...
