  • Batt light pops up under hard acceleraction?

I searched on here and didn't see this so I'll ask. My wifes car is running fine, but when I get on the gas the the batt icon on the dash pops up... no loss in anything electric, and once i let off the gas the icon goes away... no issue. I'm guess either the alternator is going out, or the belt is slipping when i give it gas.... can anyone verify this either way?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like belt slip to me . I would think if it was going out it would have more trouble charging at idle or low rpm .

I have never heard a batt light called on Icon before. I guess we have officially made it into the computer age.

It does sound like something with the belt.

Brushes in the alternator are worn. I've seen it a lot on v6 and 4.6
