  • Grinding sound when turning left. ?

Whenever I make left turns the right rear wheel makes a grinding sound. It does it the same when i apply the brakes.

Wheel bearing? Or what else should i check?

    Thanks.

That would of been my first guess, but maybe a control ARM bushing is shot and allowing the rearend to move sideways and cause something to rub/grind.

Wheel bearing makes the most sense. Check it out.

A wheel bearing would most likely make noise when turning in either direction.

It does make the sound when I turn right but not as loud. I think that would be because when I turn left more weight/stress goes to the left rear.

Just sucks that I have to pull an axle to just check the bearing..

              Oh well.

I had mine left side axle making a kinda clicking sound when braking. Pulled it and found the axle shaft banging up against cross pin, wore a groove allowing it to move. I put new bearings/seals on both sides. turned the axle 90 deg and installed new cross pin. Problem fixed. If you go thru the hassle of pulling the axles, i'd put new bearings in it regardless of what they look like, they are cheap.

                      Lol, not really.

If you drive a car hard, it's going to give out every now and then.

Plus, I havvent had any problems with it in a long time.

Nope. I suspect the wheel bearing. What asking if anything else would cause the same problem.

Its part of it. I didn't buy a 20 year car to enjoy the ride quality. I drive it like I stole it. It's a mustang...
