go faster goodies for a 97 crown vic

anyone know of any parts? trying to create a wish list and all i can find so far is one AFE intake system and a throttle body.


i would LIKE to get some exhaust mods, a better breathing N/A engine amd a chip/tuner of some kind for that 4.6 under the hood.

also, this is a non-pi head/intake manifold motor correct?


any ideas of where i could look at some parts? i take donation too

i'd do a pi head/cam/intake swap, and exhaust. that will provide better air flow, bump the compression up to make a very noticeable difference, and is probably the best bang for the buck if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and swapping the heads yourself. i have a set of heads and cams in my garage. one of the heads need to be rebuilt (valve seals) so i'd let them go cheap.

Do a pi swap with heads that are ready to install ... Pi swaps are so cheap it wouldn't be worth buying heads that need to be rebuilt .... You could do that or just drop a 4valve engine in it .

not looking to crack open the short block, its a very low milage motor. can i swap to just a pi intake and retain the stock non pi heads? i thought for sure i read that you could do that.

what else underdrive pullies? cold air intake/throttle body? does anyone make a x or h pipe for these cars? what about a cat back exhaust. a ecu tuner? anything else? what kinda rearend did these come with and did it have a LSD trak-lok in there? i read that the gears are 273's so i bet a step up to 373's would be great.

you have to get an adapter to swap intakes. a full pi swap, gears, and full exhaust would wake it up a lot

nothing wrong with being a little different. and it isnt as if mustangs are light now a days. my cobra weighed 3700 ish.

exactly. im looking for more of a respectable bracket car rather than an all out racer. what kinda weight mods do you think i could do to get the poundage down?

Strip everything you can out of it. Might be able to find a tubular front suspension. All the same basic stuff as you would for a mustang. Just have to find parts that fit your car
