Power steering flush 2000 V6 mustang

Can you disconnect the low pressure hose and then start the car to drain ALL the fluid? Disconnecting the low pressure hose and not starting the car allows some of the fluid to drain but does not flush the system.

Yea, just pour new fluid in till it runs clean, shut motor off, reconnect hose and service, not a good idea to let pump run dry.
