  • Having trouble with my n20 kit.

So the last 2 times I've attempted to spray my car its been acting up. Its almost like the car is getting more fuel than nitrous causing it to be really underpowered and a recurring hesitation with the kit on at wot. Fuel psi was bouncing around from a low of 40 to a lil over 60. Then next pass hung around a little less than 60 psi. All motor car runs fine.

Time before last at the track my et was a little off and mph was way off. Trapped 93 vs the usual 98mph. But it came around with a couple passes. Last time out at the tmccc it was acting up like discribed above never ran worth a crap.

What should I be looking for? My Dad and I have been chasing our tails on this. Possible my n20 selinoid needs rebuilt?, fuel pump? Kit is a KNS dry kit. TIA

Are you spraying it before or after the maf. If its hooked up after the maf, its gonna run way lean without any other changes.

Is it setup like a NOS dry kit, nitrous pressure feeds to the fuel pressure regulator and a bypass jet hooked to the vacuum source. If so make sure you don't have any cracks in the lines going from the solenoids to the fuel pressure regulator. If all that looks good, you may have a fuel pump that's on the weak side. The fuel pressure variances are a large part of what you need to track down the cause of.

Yes its basically the same as the nos dry setup. We looked at the lines briefly yesterday looked like they were in good shape but I will take another look just to be sure.

You might also pull the plugs and see how they look, if the fuel pressure is down, it'll cause it to run lean and the plugs may show signs of it.

This sounds trivial, but make sure the jet is clean. Mine was stumbling one time and going pig rich. I checked wiring, tested to make sure solenoid was working, relays, etc. In the end, it ended up being a piece of trash in the nitrous jet.

good point, also the sulphur in the nitrous can clog the screen up, I always run an inline filter so it's never been a problem for me.

Thought I'd update this if anyone else runs into this problem. Took the nitrous selinoid apart and ended up ordering a rebuild kit for it. The flat teflon part of the plunger was sort of deformed instead of being flat.

that will happen over time, the teflon will begin to conform to the shape of the seat.
