  • WTH is that clunking noise!

    hey all

started drivin my coupe daily now, ever since i started to ive noticed this really bad sounding clunking when im going over bumps. its coming from the rear.

possible failed control arm bushing or maybe bushing in the housing?

noticed on harder shifts im getting a tump noise from the rear as well.

Most likely it's a failed bushing. Get under there and check it out!

I had a very similar issue with one of my coupes. It turned out to be one of the lower nuts on the rear shocks was loose.

took a look the other day while it was on the lift....(was trying to fix the ebrake) looked quickly but didnt see anything.....guess its time for some SVE control arms for the DD.

check the lower shock bolts and the top shock mounts through the floor pan

The lower shock bolts will "appear" to be tight due to the weight of the axle hanging on them or the weight of the car sitting on them. Throw a wrench on them to verify...
