You can buy a moates chip and burner for like 90.00 (prices may have gone up) and i have all the tuning files as well as the Definition file for your computer. you can even upgrade to a MAF and dich the VAM..(a worthwhile upgrade)
Pull the passenger kick panel and see if the computer says LA3, it should...From the factory the timing on the TC is very soft. just loading the stock SVO iginition timing table will do wonders for midrange and top end power. LA3 has something like 16* of total timing vs a stock SVO at 24* or my modded files at 29*. in its day my SVO was "peppy" for what it was.
