94-96 with mass air and the 4r70w trans. The speed density ones usually have an e4od and they are junk.

Yeah I did a 393W for a guy with an 88 Bronco. The E4OD shit the bed twice after we installed the engine in it.

I love the big bodies, but they need a powertrain modernization unless they're strictly offroad IMO

I used to have a 77 with a 400m. I loved that thing. It had 8 inches of lift and 39" inch boggers. My favorite one I had was my o.j. special. It looked just like the one o.j. simpson had. It had 260,000 on it when I sold it.

My older one only got 4 miles to the gallon. I cost me almost 100 bucks to drive it from cleburne to ennis and back. My o.j. got 14 miles to the gallon with the 351 and e4od. The e4od was fully rollerized with upgrades. It got 12 before the tranny mods.

Thanks for the input guys. So does the 302's get about the same gas mileage as the 351's in these?

I loved my mid 90's models for practical reasons. But I always thought the late 70's models were great as far as being brutally tough looking.

On the hwy, possibly. All around driving, my 5.8 did better than the 302.

My '89 has mass air, and I'll come down there and kick your skinny ass if you call my truck junk! Just because someone keyed "ASSHOLE" in the hood and a racing stripe down the side gives you no right.

I had a '94 302 that got 14, the '89 got 8mpg before the motor was rebuilt and mass air added, not sure what it gets now.
